To open a YouTube video’s thumbnail in a new tab: Find the video > Right-click its preview or thumbnail > Select “Open Image in New Tab”.
Step-By-Step Process
- Open YouTube
- Find a video you like
- Right-click its thumbnail (or live preview)
- Click “Open Image in New Tab“
YouTube will now open the video-preview or thumbnail in a new tab on your browser.
Don’t want the video preview? First disable the auto-player.
After you do that, repeat the process to open it in a new tab and you’ll see the thumbnail itself — not the preview.
